Opening Reception: 12/7, 6pm
Charles
Hansen became a studio potter in 1999 establishing Hansen Studio
in Louisville, Kentucky. As one of the region's most dynamic
emerging clay artists, his focus is on large-scale work for exterior
settings as well as interior furnishings and accessories. His
work is about fascination with industrial and computer age machines.
Each unique handmade piece is adorned with computer generated graphics
and found industrial objects. He finds the juxtaposition between
handmade and machine made, through the ancient art form of ceramics,
creates a ‘future primitive’ art object that commemorates
and celebrates the aesthetic range of our modern life.
Ross Gordon started photographing in Seattle in 1995 and attended
the Seattle Center Photographic School and the Portfolio Center
Atlanta. He is primarily interested in shooting people and
cultural subjects, and has photographed on five continents and
over 40 countries. His next photo adventure is to ride his
motorcycle around central America photographing and interviewing
people along the way. Planning a ride around the world in 2009.
